In October of 1995
Edna Wilkinson brought two 4-month-old black and white Border Collie
puppies from England for me to pick one for myself. There was one (by
the name of Willy now) who was truly beautiful and then there was Topper
who at the time was the homeliest looking puppy. I kept them a week
trying to decide which one I wanted to keep, with Edna really pushing
the most beautiful one.
About
three days into trying to decide which one, Topper had already decided
that I was his person!!!! He followed me every step.
He would rip a lead out of anyone’s hand, if they were trying
to hold him, to get to me. So Topper actually picked me. And to this
day, he thinks I am his person.
He wants to do
anything I want to do, which makes training and showing easy.
He
is truly amazing.
