Ryan is a Border Collie from mostly herding lines. The
"obedience" that he did was just for me. We had good times
getting the novice, open, and utility titles in rapid order. He also had
several High in Trials and High Combined awards. Ryan was never ranked
nationally nor did he get a lot of recognition but I really enjoyed
showing him and he taught me a lot. He is my first UDX dog. Most of his
OTCH points came from the Utility class. As open seemed to pose no
challenge this was the class, which was hardest for him to do well in.
But overall I wouldn’t trade for the experiences we shared.
We tried herding and Ryan loves it. Of course he was a
"natural" at it since that is what he was bred to do. I, on
the other hand, was not a natural! "We" don’t do herding any
more.
Ryan has been retired for a few years now and loves
ruling our household and our other dogs. |
