| Mandrake was my first OTCH, but my second dog to train. My first
poodle was retired with 70+ points and deemed incorrigible by me, so
Mandrake was like a dream come true. He went from a CD to an OTCH,
having only been in the ring a total of 25 times.
He was a "heads up, tails up" dog whose enthusiasm
sometimes got him in trouble. He had many High-in-Trials to his
credit and was nationally ranked in in the Top 10 in both the
Non-Sporting Groups and in Poodles.
Mandrake was always eager to train and to show, and he set the
standard for what I look for in a "performance dog" as well as
a companion. |
