Gabbie
is the most beautiful standard poodle I have ever owned.
She should have finished her breed championship but she was too
afraid of people. When I
brought her out for obedience classes, Cathy told me it would take a lot
of hard work to even get a CD on her and I might consider sending her
back. I was very determined
and worked very hard to overcome all the problems and fears she had when
she came to me as a 9 week old puppy.
Finally
by the time she was 5 years old and lots of hard work we decided to enter
our first obedience trial. She
did better than my wildest expectations earning her CD with a Dog World
Award and winning most of her Novice classes!
Then
came Open B class where I was already showing my other 2 standard poodles!
I must have been crazy to enter all 3 in Open B and the other 2 in
Utility B! Again, Gabbie
excelled and placed 4th in her first Open B class with her 2
sisters placing ahead of her! What
a thrill it was to have 3 dogs in Open B and all 3 of them place!
Again, Gabbie earned her CDX with a Dog World Award!
Utility
has always been my favorite class and she earned her UD in just five
shows. Then on to the UDX and
finally the OTCH! What a fun
trip it has been getting my 3rd OTCH with the help of Cathy
Niles!
