"Derby" is my husband's dog, and had eyes only
for "Dad". I showed him to his CDX and then retired him
at age 3 1/2 with what I thought were incurable "stay"
problems. At the age of 8 1/2, I decided, at my teacher's
suggestion, to attempt to get a UD on him. I told my husband I
would only try for one year considering his age. Boy did I have a
surprise in store for me.
In 10 months, Derby bounced his way to a
UD, UDX and an OTCH. At 9 1/2 years of age he was retired again to
his "Dad's" lap. He ended his "year" ranked in
the top 5 Poodles & Non-Sporting Group in both the Delaney and First
& Foremost Systems as well as being the # 4 Non-Sporting dog for
OTCH Points earned.
Derby was a pretty special surprise for me. He is my third
OTCH. |
